Inside a Chez Mieux Stay: Private Condos, Gentle Routines and Daily Enrichment

From the first sniff of a fresh condo to the last brushing before pickup, every part of a stay in our Natick facility is designed around how cats feel safe.

Multi-level cat condos at Chez Mieux in Natick

A Day in the Life of a Feline Guest

Mornings at Chez Mieux begin quietly. Caregivers check on each guest, note how they slept, serve breakfast according to the instructions you left, and tidy the condo so the litter is fresh and the bedding is soft. Midday brings play, brushing and exploration for cats who enjoy it, and calm companionship for those who would rather watch from a perch. Evenings wind down with dinner, medication if needed, and a final check before lights dim.

Because we board only cats, that rhythm is never interrupted by barking or the bustle of a dog kennel. The building simply stays peaceful, which helps nervous cats settle sooner and lets confident cats truly relax.

Private Multi-Level Cat Condos

Each guest has a private condo with several levels for climbing, lounging and keeping an eye on the room. Sleeping, feeding and litter areas are kept separate, something cats instinctively prefer. Windows and shelves create natural lookout points, and cozy bedding offers a warm place to curl up. You can see current boarding rates for each condo arrangement before you book.Boarding rates for each condo arrangement

We clean every condo daily, refresh litter, and keep bowls and bedding tidy. Cats can be particular about their surroundings, and a clean, predictable space is one of the simplest ways to help them feel at home.

No Barking Dogs, No Shared Kennel Spaces

Cats experience new environments differently than dogs. Unfamiliar animal scents, loud noises and constant traffic can keep a cat on high alert for days. At our cat-only facility in Natick, those stressors simply are not present. There are no shared dog-and-cat areas, so your cat can focus on the important things: eating well, sleeping soundly and getting to know the people caring for them.

Boarding Multiple Cats From One Household

Traveling with more than one cat? Families from across MetroWest and Greater Boston often board two or three cats together. Bonded companions who groom one another and share a bed at home may be happiest sharing one condo. Cats who squabble over food, eat special diets or simply like their own space may do better in separate or adjoining condos, subject to availability. Tell us about your cats when you request a stay and we will suggest the arrangement that suits them.Request a stay

Play, Enrichment and Individual Attention

Enrichment looks different for every cat. One guest may chase a wand toy until they flop over in delight; another may prefer a slow brushing session and a quiet chat. Our caregivers adjust interaction to each cat's age, temperament and comfort level. Options include:

  • Wand-toy and interactive play
  • Climbing and supervised time outside the condo
  • Window watching and bird-spotting
  • Brushing and gentle grooming
  • Treats and quiet one-on-one companionship

Familiar Feeding Routines

A sudden change of food can upset a cat's stomach, especially in a new setting. We ask families to bring their cat's normal food with written notes on portion size, timing and any preparation needs. We follow those instructions carefully and keep notes on appetite every day, so you will know how your cat is eating while you are away.

Medication Administration

Cats with health conditions deserve a comfortable boarding stay too. Our team can administer oral medications, topical ointments, inhalers, nebulizer treatments, subcutaneous injections and subcutaneous fluids. Please discuss your cat's needs before booking so we can prepare properly. Medications should arrive clearly labeled, ideally in original packaging, with dosage and timing instructions. Our health and safety page explains our procedures in more depth.Health and safety page

A Little Comfort From Home

A familiar scent can make a surprising difference. We invite you to bring one small comfort item, such as a blanket, pillowcase or favorite toy. We supply the litter box, bowls and bedding, so you do not need to pack much else. Our new guest checklist lists everything to bring for your cat's first visit.New guest checklist

Thoughtful Touches Cats Notice

Little details shape how a cat experiences a new space. We keep lighting soft in the evenings, move quietly through the room and handle every guest gently. Condos are arranged so cats can see out without feeling exposed, and shelves give shy guests a high, safe vantage point. Caregivers speak softly, offer a hand to sniff before petting, and let each cat decide how close they want to be. These touches may seem small, but they add up to a stay that feels calm rather than chaotic.

We also keep simple daily notes on every guest: how they ate, how they used the litter box, whether they played, and how relaxed they seemed. Those notes help us spot trends quickly and make it easy to answer when you call to ask how your cat is doing.

What Pickup Day Looks Like

When you return, we'll bring your cat out in their carrier and share highlights from their stay, whether that's a favorite toy, a new caregiver friend or an impressive appetite. Many families tell us their cat seems relaxed on the ride home, which is exactly what we hope for. If you're traveling again soon, we're happy to pencil in your next visit before you leave.
