About Chez Mieux Cat Kennel
A Family of Cat Lovers Caring for Your Family's Cat
Chez Mieux Cat Kennel was created with a simple idea in mind: when you travel, you should be able to leave your cat somewhere that understands cats.
Not just pets in general. Cats.
Their personalities. Their routines. Their need for quiet, familiarity, patience, comfortable spaces, and care that respects who they are.
Since 2011, Chez Mieux has provided cat-only boarding in Natick, Massachusetts, giving families throughout MetroWest and the Greater Boston area a place to turn when their feline family members need a safe, comfortable home away from home.
We are a family-owned business built by cat lovers for cat lovers.
And after years of caring for countless feline guests, we still believe the most important part of what we do is simple:
Get to know the cat in front of us.

Our Story
Chez Mieux was founded in 2011 by a family of cat lovers who understood firsthand how difficult it can be to find the right care for a cat while traveling.
Cats aren't always comfortable in traditional boarding environments.
A facility filled with barking dogs, unfamiliar activity, and generalized pet-care routines may work perfectly well for some animals, but cats often benefit from something quieter and more specialized.
That experience helped inspire Chez Mieux.
What began in a few small spaces has grown into a thriving cat-only boarding facility capable of caring for up to 84 feline guests.
Over the years, the facility has grown and improved, but the underlying philosophy has remained much the same.
We want cats to have:
- • A comfortable place of their own
- • A peaceful, dog-free environment
- • Familiar routines whenever possible
- • Individual attention
- • Opportunities for play and enrichment
- • Patient caregivers
- • Care that adapts to their personality
And we want their families to have the confidence that comes from knowing someone is paying attention to the details.
Why Cat-Only Boarding?
Because Cats Deserve an Environment Designed Around Them
Cats are not small dogs.
They communicate differently, respond differently to unfamiliar situations, and often have very different needs when it comes to comfort and interaction.
That is why Chez Mieux is dedicated exclusively to feline guests.
There are no boarding dogs at our facility.
Instead, the environment is centered around cats and the way they experience their surroundings.
For many feline guests, that means:
- • No barking dogs
- • Fewer unfamiliar animal smells
- • A quieter atmosphere
- • Private spaces where they can retreat
- • Opportunities to climb and perch
- • Caregivers focused on feline behavior
- • Interactions based on each cat's comfort level
Some cats arrive curious and ready for attention. Others prefer to watch us carefully for a while before deciding whether we're trustworthy. We respect both.
Our caregivers learn to recognize each guest's body language, preferences, and boundaries so interactions can happen at the cat's pace.

Every Cat Is an Individual
One of the most important lessons we've learned from caring for cats is that there really is no such thing as a "typical" cat.
One guest may want to play every chance they get. Another may prefer sitting quietly by a window.
One cat may immediately greet every caregiver who walks by, while another may take several days before deciding they'd like some attention.
Some cats love being brushed. Others most certainly do not.
That's why personalized care is central to Chez Mieux.
We want to know:
- •What your cat normally eats
- •Their regular feeding routine
- •Favorite activities
- •How they behave around new people
- •Whether they are shy or outgoing
- •How much interaction they usually enjoy
- •Whether they take medication
- •Any health or mobility considerations
- •Their normal habits and personality
- •Anything else that can help us understand them
The better we know your cat, the better we can care for them while you're away.
Our Approach to Feline Care
1Comfort & Safety
Cats need a clean, comfortable place where they can relax and feel secure.
Our guests stay in private multi-level accommodations designed to provide separate areas for sleeping, eating, and litter, along with comfortable bedding and opportunities to climb and observe their surroundings.
Daily housekeeping and wellness monitoring are part of every stay.
2Personalized Attention
We don't expect every cat to enjoy the same routine. Play, enrichment, interaction, feeding, and care are adapted according to each guest.
3Compassion & Respect
Cats communicate a great deal through body language.
Sometimes the most respectful thing a caregiver can do is offer affection. Sometimes it's to offer a toy. And sometimes it's to give a guest a little space.
We believe good feline care means paying attention to those signals.
4Peace of Mind
We know the boarding experience isn't only about the cat. Leaving a beloved pet with someone else can be difficult.
Our goal is to make the process clear and comfortable for families, from understanding our rates and policies to discussing medication requirements or special routines before arrival.

Experienced Caregivers Who Understand Cats
A comfortable facility matters. But the people caring for your cat matter just as much.
Chez Mieux caregivers work closely with feline guests every day and learn to recognize the small signals that can tell us how a cat is feeling.
That includes changes in:
- • Appetite & Activity
- • Behavior & Sociability
- • Litter habits
- • Energy levels & Comfort
Our team also works with cats who require medication and additional care, including certain oral medications, topical treatments, inhalers, injections, subcutaneous fluids, and other established routines.
For cats receiving medication, our current procedures include medication records and double-check protocols designed to help scheduled treatments stay organized.
If your cat has a medical condition, medication routine, behavioral consideration, or other special need, tell us before booking so we can determine the best way to prepare.
A Home Away From Home for Cats
We know we aren't actually your cat's home.
No boarding facility can replace their favorite chair, their usual windowsill, or the person they sleep next to every night.
What we can do is make their time away as comfortable and familiar as possible.
That may mean following their normal feeding routine. It may mean giving a shy cat extra time to settle in. It might mean plenty of interactive play for an energetic guest or a quiet place to nap for a senior cat. It may even mean placing a favorite blanket or piece of clothing from home in their sleeping area.
Those small details are part of creating an environment where cats can settle into a routine of their own while they're with us.
Private Accommodations Designed for Cats
Our boarding facility includes private, multi-level condos that give guests distinct areas for everyday activities.
Depending on availability and the needs of each cat, accommodations may include:
- • Multiple levels & Climbing shelves
- • Comfortable bedding
- • Separate sleeping, feeding, and litter areas
- • Window views
- • Options for multi-cat households & Adjoining accommodations
Families boarding more than one cat can discuss whether shared or individual accommodations are most appropriate.
Some cats feel most comfortable staying together. Others prefer having a little extra personal space. We can help determine what makes sense based on how your cats interact at home.
Enrichment Is Part of the Experience
Boarding shouldn't mean spending the entire day waiting in one spot.
Chez Mieux provides opportunities for play, exercise, enrichment, and individual attention based on each cat's interests and comfort level.
Depending on the guest, that may include:
- • Interactive toys
- • Wand play
- • Climbing structures
- • Exercise outside condo
- • Brushing
- • Treats
- • Window watching
- • Time with caregivers
- • Quiet companionship
Playtime, brushing, treats, and individual attention are currently included with boarding rather than priced as separate daily add-ons.
Our goal is not to create the busiest possible day. It's to create the right day for that particular cat.
Caring for Senior & Special-Needs Cats
Cats change as they age, and so do their needs.
Senior cats may prefer a slower routine, gentler interaction, different accommodation arrangements, or additional medical attention.
Other cats may require medication or have mobility, dietary, or behavioral considerations that should be taken into account during boarding.
Chez Mieux can adapt care and enrichment around a guest's abilities and comfort level.
If your cat has unique needs, we encourage you to share as much information as possible before their stay. It's always better for us to know ahead of time.

Family-Owned Means Personal
Chez Mieux isn't a large national boarding chain.
We're a family-owned Natick business, and that personal connection remains an important part of who we are.
Our current mission and values center around treating pets as family, providing individualized care, creating a calm and comfortable environment, and giving cat parents peace of mind.
That family-business mindset influences the way we think about every guest.
We don't want your cat to simply occupy a condo number.
We want our caregivers to know:
- That's the cat who loves the wand toy.
- That's the one who wants chin scratches.
- That's the one who likes sitting quietly by the window.
- That's the senior who needs a little more time.
- That's the shy cat who's finally starting to trust us.
Those details are what turn boarding from a transaction into care.
Proud to Be Part of the Natick Community
Chez Mieux is located at 81 Speen Street in Natick, Massachusetts, where we welcome cats from families throughout MetroWest and the Greater Boston area.
Being locally owned means we're part of the same community as many of the families we serve.
For some customers, Chez Mieux becomes part of the routine every time they travel.
We may see the same cats return for family vacations, business trips, holidays, and extended stays.
And because cats have long memories and strong opinions, we're always pleased when a returning guest settles back into familiar surroundings.
Whether you're visiting Chez Mieux for the first time or your cat already knows us well, our goal is the same:
Provide thoughtful, individualized feline care while you're away.
