How Chez Mieux Began

Chez Mieux Cat Kennel was founded in 2011 as a family-owned boarding facility created specifically for cats. The idea was born from a simple observation: most pet boarding is designed with dogs in mind, and cats are left to cope with the noise, scents and routines of a world that was not built for them. We wanted to create something better, a calm place in Natick where cats could be cared for by people who truly understand them.

More than a decade later, the facility has grown, but our focus has never changed. We are still family-owned, still cat-only, and still committed to treating every guest as an individual.

Why Cat-Only Boarding?

Cats are not small dogs. They communicate differently, respond differently to unfamiliar situations and have very different needs when it comes to comfort and interaction. That is why we have never boarded dogs. Without dogs in the building, cats enjoy:

Every Cat Is an Individual

One of the most important lessons we have learned is that there is no such thing as a typical cat. One guest wants to play every chance they get; another prefers to sit quietly by the window. One greets every caregiver at the door; another takes several days to accept a chin scratch. Some cats adore brushing. Others most certainly do not.

That is why we ask so many questions before a stay. What does your cat eat? How do they behave around new people? Do they take medication? Do they have mobility issues? Every answer helps us care for them the way you would.
