Dependable Cat Boarding Needham Families Can Trust
Leaving your cat with someone else takes trust. Chez Mieux has been a family-owned, cat-only kennel in Natick since 2011, and many Needham families have boarded with us for years. Our facility is a short drive from Needham Center and Needham Heights by way of Route 128 and Route 9, or through Wellesley on local roads.
You will talk to the same small team every time, and we will remember your cat. Read more about who we are on our about us page.About us page
Health and Safety Procedures
Every guest must have current FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations, which protects all the cats in our care. Condos are cleaned daily, litter is changed every day, and each cat has their own space so there is no shared food or litter. Caregivers watch appetite, water intake, litter habits and behavior at every check, and we contact you or your veterinarian if anything seems off.
Our health and safety page covers these procedures in detail.Health and safety page
- FVRCP and Rabies required for every guest
- Daily cleaning and fresh litter
- Private condos, no shared bowls
- Daily appetite and behavior checks
Care for Every Feline Personality
No two cats are alike, and we don't treat them as if they were.
Shy cats
Nervous cats get a quiet condo, time to hide if they want to, and caregivers who wait to be invited. Most shy Needham cats are eating and exploring within a day or two.
Senior cats
Older cats get soft bedding, easy-to-reach levels and close attention to appetite and mobility. We keep routines steady and calm.
Cats with medical needs
We give oral medications and follow special diets. Call before booking to talk through your cat's needs; medication fees are on our rates page.Rates page
Personal Attention, Every Day
Daily play, brushing and treats are included in every stay. Each Needham cat gets one-on-one time matched to their mood, whether that means a feather toy, a long brushing session or simply company in the room. Bring your cat's regular food and we will follow the feeding schedule you use at home. New to boarding? Our new guest guide explains what to expect.New guest guide

Packing Tips for Needham Families
Current FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations are required, so check your records with your Needham veterinarian well before your trip. Pack enough of your cat's regular food for the full stay, any medications in labeled original packaging, and one small item that smells like home. We supply litter, bowls and bedding. Our new guest guide walks through check-in step by step, and our health and safety page explains how we monitor every guest.
A Calmer Alternative for Needham Cats
Needham cat parents often tell us their cats came home from mixed-pet kennels tense or withdrawn. In a dog-free setting, most cats settle faster and eat better. That's why our family has focused on cats alone since 2011, and why so many Needham households now plan every trip around a stay at Chez Mieux.
Every guest from Needham is treated as an individual, with feeding, play and handling shaped by the notes you share at booking.
Planning Around Needham School Vacations and Holidays
Families in Needham tend to travel during the same windows: Thanksgiving, the December holidays, February and April school vacation weeks, and summer weekends. Condos for those dates often fill weeks ahead, so we recommend reserving as soon as your plans are set. Stays longer than 20 days may qualify for an extended-stay discount, and a 50% deposit applies to reservations of 21 days or more. A holiday surcharge may apply during certain peak periods.
If your Needham household has more than one cat, mention whether they'll share a condo or stay separately when you book. Two cats sharing is $48 per day, while two individual condos are $70 per day, with adjoining condos available on request.
Small Steps, Big Difference for Needham Cats
Leave the carrier out at home for a few days before the trip so your Needham cat sees it as furniture rather than a warning. Pack a T-shirt you've worn, and keep goodbyes short and cheerful at drop-off. Most cats take a day to settle; after that, they usually eat well, play and nap like they own the place.
